Manatee commissioner raising political contributions through his campaign and a political committee that bears his nickname.

Manatee County Commissioner Kevin Van Ostenbridge reported this week that his campaign had raised more than $10,500 during the two months ending May 31, bringing his total haul so far to almost $225,000. Fueled by the largesse of his backers in real estate and related industries, Van Ostenbridge holds commanding leads over his rivals for the at-large District 7 seat on the county commission, including incumbent George Kruse.

But that’s not all the money Van Ostenbridge has raised this election cycle.
