Manatee School Board to discuss new law that led some teachers to close classroom libraries
If teacher allows a student to read unapproved book, they could be charged with a felony.
The Manatee County School Board at two meetings this week will address how the district is complying with a new state education law governing instructional, library and reading materials, after implementation of new requirements last week led some teachers to either block student access to their classroom libraries or remove them altogether.
