UPDATE | Manatee County turns out the lights on annual Pride Month display at Sunshine Skyway

Commission chairman Mike Rahn “will not be approving lighting of the Skyway for Pride Month or National Gun Violence Awareness Day.”

Every time you drive across the Bob Graham Sunshine Bridge at night this summer, you will be reminded of how backwards and maybe, hateful, some Manatee County commissioners can be.

Since 2021, the Florida Department of Transportation has bathed the Skyway in rainbow colors during one week in June to commemorate Pride Month.
