Manatee County employees will soon be able to carry concealed handguns while on the job. Here are the proposed rules
The Manatee County Commission on June 6 will consider changes to the county’s personnel policy that will allow employees to carry a concealed handgun while on the job.

The proposed policy change, which has been pushed hard by Commissioner James Satcher, is specific about what would be allowed and not allowed; and promises discipline for any violations. But this is still a bad idea.
