Journal wins secon-place prize for commentary writing
The Bradenton Journal on Saturday received the second-place prize for commentary writing in the Florida Press Club’s 2023 Excellence in Journalism competition. It is the second consecutive year the statewide journalism organization has recognized the Journal for commentary writing for its circulation size..
The Journal, which began publication in July 2022, was honored for three columns about the Manatee County Commission.

The chance to win awards is not why I started the Journal, but the recognition is nice and an affirmation that maybe what I am doing here is making a difference.
I will let you, the readers and subscribers, decide if that is true. Whatever your answer, I plan to keep writing and sharing what I think about important issues in Manatee County.
Thank you for reading and for your support.
Congrats!!
Congratulations on pulling the curtain back of corruption in our local government
