Congressman Vern Buchanan endorses Manatee Commissioner Carol Whitmore for re-election
Buchanan said Whitmore, who faces well-financed challenger from her political right, is the type of conservative needed on county commission.
Manatee County Commissioner Carol Whitmore has scored a big endorsement in her bid to hold onto her seat in the Republican primary on Aug. 23.
Whitmore’s campaign announced Friday that U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Longboat Key, had endorsed her, as she tries to stamp out a vigorous challenge from her right from Jason Bearden.
